Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network

Each year Pleasant Grove partners with Millbrook UMC to help address the homeless situation in Wake County.  This is achieved by working with the Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network (WIHN).  At the WIHN Day Center on Method Road in Raleigh, services are provided to homeless individuals and families who are choosing to make better lives for themselves.  In the evenings the clients stay overnight at one of many local churches. Millbrook UMC is one such church.

The role that Pleasant Grove plays is to provide morning and evening transportation for the clients between Millbrook UMC and the WIHN Method Road Day Center.  Using our church van, volunteers typically need to be at Millbrook by 6:30 a.m. for the morning run, and at the Day Center by 5:30 p.m. for the afternoon run.  In addition, we provide one evening meal at Millbrook UMC during the week long stay.
