Winter Coat Drive
The days are getting colder and the nights even more so! The Middle School Youth Group wants to reach out to those in our community who need simple basics to stay warm.
With that in mind we are preparing for an outreach event at Moore Square in downtown Raleigh in early February where we will be distributing bagged lunches as well as any warm outerwear items we can collect! Please help with this outreach effort by donating any warm coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves and blankets that you are ready to part with. You can put them in collection box in the Narthex at church or get them to any member of the Middle School Youth Group. The youth are also willing to purchase these items at Goodwill if you would prefer making a monetary donation in the offering plate (payable to PGUMC and labeled with “MSY Moore Square” on the memo line).

Mission Trip
January 21-22: The second trip to Shiloh UMC in Stumpy Point is on and we want you to come help rebuild this beautiful church and community!
Our second team is being organized to travel to the Outer Banks, Friday, Jan 20-21, 7:30 am for those who can leave early on Friday, and 6 pm for those who have work, and returning on Saturday night Jan 21, around 10 pm.
As a reminder, this is the church our Associate Pastor, Meredith Snider served before coming to Pleasant Grove. The entire town, including the church, was extremely damaged by Hurricane Irene back in August.
The details will be ironed out over the next week, but the general idea is that the team will travel in the church van (let’s fill it!) and “camp out” inside an available community center and work all day Saturday from dusk to dawn. The time away from home is not too significant but the service we can provide to others in that time frame will be well worth it.
Larry Mosiman, is coordinating the mission and can be contacted at larry.mosiman@sas.com. Also, Bill Speri with The UMM are coming with us, but we need to get as many people as possible to join in and practice what we’ve been preaching!
This is a great opportunity to be the Body of Christ in the world. We hope you will seriously consider giving of your time and talents.
Below is a link to the website for Shiloh UMC in Stumpy Point that needs help, as well as the people who live there.

Meredith Snider, Larry Mosiman, Bill Speri, & Leslie Schreiner
