About PGUMC
Our Mission: We exist to be the Body of Christ in the world.
Our Vision: To reach all through hospitality, engage all in ministries, and enable all to grow spiritually.
In the middle of the 19th century a group of folks began to meet together for church in a small community west of Raleigh. They called it Pleasant Grove. They met to worship, to study, and to share their lives. Most of their names are lost to us, but their spirit lives on in this place.
The faces of those you see throughout this web site have taken up the tradition to make
Pleasant Grove a place where God’s grace continues to pour forth into the world.
In the past few months we have sent mission teams to help an impoverished village in El Salvador and to assist hurricane victims in eastern North Carolina. We have collected school supplies for our after-school mentoring program participants, and we have resurfaced a portion of our back parking lot to be used for a community youth basketball league. We sponsor Moms in Motion, which is designed to support new moms, and host yoga classes to help strengthen tired bodies.
Bibles studies, book clubs, fellowship dinners, three weekly worship experiences, choirs for all ages, youth groups, senior gatherings, scouts, and on and on.
We worship together. We study together. We share our lives with one another, and we invite you to come and join us. We will meet you wherever you are in your spiritual journey.
Peace,
Jay Minnick
Senior Pastor
