Want to Honor or Remember a Loved one Affected by Cancer? Relay team members will be out in the Courtyard after the 8:30am, 9:45am and 11:00am worship service Sunday, May 6th and Sunday May 13th. This is a great opportunity to purchase Luminaria to Honor or Remember a loved one at the Relay for Life event. $10 for a White bag, $25 for Gold Star bag and $50 for Hope Lantern (that you may take home after the event).

We will  be taking names of Survivors and Lost Loved Ones to display at the PGUMC Relay for Life tent. Spring cleaning left you with a lot of stuff you don’t know what to do with? We’ve got your solution! We will have a community-wide yard sale this coming Saturday, May 19, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. If you would like to participate, you can rent 1 parking space for $10 or 2 for $15. All proceeds (beyond the cost of advertising) will go to support the ministries of PGUMC.

Graduate Recognition Sunday is scheduled for June 3. If you have a loved one who is graduating from high school, college, or graduate school please contact the church office as soon as possible. Please let us know your graduate’s name, school, and any special degrees they’ll be receiving.

Singers and instrumentalists are needed to provide special music during the summer months while the Chancel Choir is on sabbatical. Please contact Joe Lupton at joe.lupton@pgumc.org if you’d like to share your musical talents here at church.

Everyone is invited to a Memorial Day picnic on Sunday, May 27, at 5:00 p.m. The church will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks – please bring a side dish and/or a dessert to share. Volunteers will be needed to man the grills. Please contact Lucinda Sullivan if you can help.

It’s time to register for Summer Camp at Pleasant Grove Preschool! Rising 3 year-olds through current 1st graders are invited for 4 sessions of camp at our preschool. Enrollment forms are located in the foyer of the Education Bldg. and on the church website, www.pgumc.org.

Please silence your cell phone during worship and help us keep our Sanctuary tidy. Trash cans are located in the Narthex and worship bulletins may be placed in the recycle box between the front doors. Also, please remember that food & drinks are discouraged in the Sanctuary at all times.

Please join us on Saturday, May 19 and support the ministries of the United Methodist Men by enjoying a community-wide chicken pickin’ between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Proceeds of the fundraiser will be earmarked toward improvements for The Grove. The menu will include barbequed chicken (prepared onsite), potatoes, Banker’s famous cole slaw, BBQ bread, assorted desserts, and drinks. Chicken legs will be available for kids. This trip will be in conjunction with a program entitled “Eight Days of Hope.” Volunteers are asked to sign up for a three day commitment. The actual Dunking Booth Day will be Saturday,  May 19th from 5:30pm-7:30pm during the BBQ Chicken Pickin. The Dunking Booth is being sponsored by the PGUMC’s United Methodist Men’s Group for the Relay for Life Cause. Several church leaders have graciously volunteered to spend 15mins in the dunk tank on May 19th. For $1 a throw or a donation you can make sure they get all wet!
