All Saints Sunday is Sunday, November 6. If you have a loved one who passed away since last All Saints Day, please contact the church office so that their name may be included in our All Saints Sunday worship services.
Interested in an evening Sunday School Class? Please join Rev. Minnick Sunday at 5:00 p.m. for the beginning of a four-part series entitled “Peter & Paul and the Christian Revolution.” The class will meet in the Hyder House.
Bring your loose change to church on Sunday, October 30! We’ll be collecting loose change to send to UNICEF, the United Nations’ Children’s Fund. UNICEF uses all donations to help children in over 150 countries through education, immunizations, health care, nutrition, clean water, and sanitation.
Pig Pickin’ and Fall Carnival, next Saturday, October 29, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Please join us for this fun annual event hosted by the United Methodist Men. We’ll enjoy fall carnival games and a meal of barbecued pig, side dishes, and desserts. Hot dogs will also be available. The cost of the meal is $8/adults, $7/sr. citizens, $5/kids ages 4 – 10, and kids under 4 eat free. Wear your Halloween costume and participate in the costume parade at 6:45 p.m. Invite your friends and neighbors. Barbecue sandwiches & slaw will be available for lunch as well. All are welcome!
Join the Greatminds kids for some pumpkin carving fun! Bring your own pumpkin on Sunday, October 30, from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. for pumpkin carving and other fun Fall activities. A few adult volunteers will be needed. For more information, or to volunteer to help, please contact Lucinda in the church office.
Community Impact Day/Out of Pews Saturday is on November 5. Sign ups will be available through email to lesliewschreiner@gmail.com or after worship today and next Sunday. This is a day set aside by our District to work in the community. There are options available for all ages and different times of the day. Please begin collecting food pantry items for Hurricane Irene victims and shoes for Share our Shoes. Collection bins will be located in the Narthex.
Early Response Team (ERT) Class, Saturday, October 29, at Hayes Barton UMC, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 a.m. The need for people trained in early response is critical. Classes are taught by “authorized” UMCOR trainers, and team members are given ID badges as evidence of training.
