GIVE THROUGH STOCK
The Methodist Foundation is a ministry of the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church (NCCUMC). The NCCUMC is comprised of UM churches in the eastern half of NC. The Foundation handles various financial issues for churches in our Conference.

One of the services they offer is the ability to donate stock to local churches. First you transfer the stock to the Foundation. They in turn sell the stock at no cost to the donor or church and forward all proceeds from that sale to the local church.
To begin the process of donating stock a donor must fill out a Memorandum of Intent that can be found on the Foundation's website: http://umf‑nc.org/stock‑liquidation‑service/
Once this form is submitted the Foundation will send a confirmation email to the donor with information about the Foundation's brokerage account numbers (one for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and the other for the Foundation's specific account at Morgan Stanley). The donor then proceeds to direct their broker to transfer the stock to the Foundation.
